Condition Report
Avalanche Peak (1833m)

Issued: 12/10/2017
Avalanche Peak track should only be used by mountaineers with ice tools (ice-axe & crampons), with knowledge of reading avalanche terrain conditions. Scott's track is basically clear of snow to the upper steep slopes; climbers have reported icy conditions on a couple of the snow-patches that are across the upper track - ice-axe & crampons may be required; bypassing around the cliff edges comes with its own risks. The summit ridge is 50/50 ice/rock.
